eVLBI in the Australasian region

The development of eVLBI has forced astronomers to overcome the age-old problem of incompatible VLBI systems and data formats and move towards a more standard-based approach.
The success of this has been clearly demonstrated over the last few years with a variety of demonstrations between Asian, Australian and European telescopes.

In the SKA era, there will be increasing interest in high resolution radio astronomy.

In this talk, I will give an overview of the demonstrations which have been run over the past few years, and describe current capabilities and possibilities for the future.
