Task Description and Goals
The Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) Survey is a very deep, multi-filter imaging survey, which enables us to explore the distant universe. In this project, we plan to find the large scale structure consisting of groups of galaxy clusters, namely super-clusters, from low redshift out to redshift z~1 or so.
The resulting super-cluster sample will allow us to study galaxy evolution over a wide range of environments, from low mass groups, to clusters, and to scales well beyond a typical cluster. We will also compare the abundance of super-clusters with predictions from the standard cosmological model.
Required Background
