Latest Results from the Supernova Legacy Survey

Author(s): Nicolas Regnault for the SNLS Collaboration

Presenter: Nicolas Regnault (LPNHE - CNRS - Universites Paris 6 & 7)

The Supernova Legacy Survey is a 5 year program which aims at
measuring the expansion history of the Universe using type Ia
supernovae, and in particular the equation of state parameter of Dark
Energy.

The SNLS implemented a rolling search, repeatedly imaging every 3 to 4
nights the low-extinction fields of the DEEP component of the CFHT-LS.
SNLS has discovered and spectroscopically identified more than 450 SNe
Ia in the redshift range 0.3 < z < 1. This supernova dataset is the
largest homogeneous high redshift sample available today. It allows us
to test for various systematic uncertainties potentially affecting our
measurement and therefore derive robust cosmological constraints.

In this talk, we will review the main results published so far by the
SNLS. In particular, we will present the cosmological constraints
obtained from the first three years of observations. We will discuss
the improvements over the first year analysis, in particular in
photometric calibration and SN lightcurve modeling.
