The Red Sequence Cluster Survey 2 (RCS2) is an imaging survey covering nearly 1000 square degrees of sky in three filters (g', r', z') carried out using the square-degree imager, MegaCam, on the CFHT, to search for galaxy clusters in the redshift range of z < 1.0. Additional i'-band images are also available for over 70% of the survey. The project uses the red-sequence of cluster early-type galaxies to identify clusters. The primary goal of the RCS2 is to measure w by providing constraints in the w-Omega_M plane. A major secondary focus of the RCS2 is to discover a new sample of strong lensing clusters (50~100 systems). In addition, there are several parallel sciences which will be done using the RCS2 data. The observations of RCS2 are completed, and the preliminary photometric catalogues and cluster catalogues have been generated. A number of scientific studies are being carried out using these catalogues. We will describe the survey design and the techniques used in our pipelines to generate the 4-color photometric catalog for ~10^8 galaxies.
